Bluemark Welcomes New MAPSng Facilty

Bluemark welcomes Sound Shore Medical Center and Mount Vernon Hospitals to its family of MAPSch users. These facilities are among the first to implement Bluemark's MAPSch process to automate their Charity Care application workflow in an effort to streamline a cumbersome manual process. MAPSch will also assist these facilities in managing the newly adopted reporting requirements for Charity Care mandated by the New York Department of Health.

President of Bluemark Speaks at IHA Executive Summit

Ken Sacks, President of Bluemark, LLC was invited to speak at the Iroquois Healthcare Alliance Executive summit to discuss the newly enacted Charity Care initiative by the NY State Department of Health. This discussion was to inform key hospital executives about the mandated reporting requirements and how to leverage technology in order to meet these requirements.

The Greater New York Hospital Association and Bluemark, LLC Form Alliance

To assist GNYHA members in New York State comply with the State's Charity Care Law, which took effect on January 1, 2007, GNYHA Services, Inc. entered into a group purchasing agreement with Bluemark, LLC, a company that offers software specifically designed to help hospitals meet the requirements of the new law. The software, known as Medical Application Processing System/Charity (MAPSch), helps determine patient eligibility for Medicaid, charity care, and other assistance programs, and enables hospitals to meet the reporting and other compliance requirements of the new statute. Among other key features, the software automates the screening, creation, tracking, and management of hospital-specific or State-mandated Charity Care applications; supports applicant screening in a single interview session for a broad array of assistance programs; links the screening results to appropriate forms and pre-populates the forms to expedite completion; maintains an electronic copy/folder of all applications and supporting documentation and tracks the status of all applications; and provides an automated mechanism for meeting mandated reporting requirements.
